Phil is also a promoter of sorts, and in 1999 organized two very successful shows, both taking place at Legends cabaret. The first was a benefit for the Red Cross Kosovo Appeal during the Kosovo crisis and was called "Blues for Kosovo". This event included performances by Hot In The Shade, Gene Grooms, The Bill Johnson Band, Nancy Ruth and also featured Vancouver Blues Legend Jim Byrnes. The second event, a benefit for Amnesty International, was called "The Summer of Love Music Festival" and included 5 bands presenting the music of Jefferson Airplane, Santana, The Doors, Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrix. The Hendrix set was performed by The Boz Roz Band.
